Our leadership team
Briony Winters
Centre Director
My name is Briony and I am the Centre Director/ Nominated Supervisor for Ashton’s Place Immersive Learners. I have been working within the childcare sector for 23 years, and during this time I have dedicated my role to ensure the best quality of care for each family. My role is an integral part of the heart of the centre, supporting within all areas of the National Quality Standards. My role is to work closely with families, children, my team of educators, and my community to provide the highest standard of practice and care for your child. I believe that children teach us just as must as we teach them, and through this collaboration we form a bond and willingness of adventure and imagination which is vital for their growth and development.
I support and build a team of leading educators to ensure each child feels safe, secure, and supported in building their levels of comfort as well as levels of play through having a variety of learning options to build and scaffold their own learning and development. I drive and support children and their families, connecting them as a community to support the growth pathway to each child’s individual future. I support all programs to offer children opportunities to create and take part in their learning journey. Through this collaboration children, children learn through reciprocal conversations and social experiences of play. I develop and support the platforms for each child to develop their individual thinking skills through finding out through reciprocal communication and exploring and how to build on these in their own way and become immersive learners.
“A child is like a butterfly in the wind, some can fly higher than others, but each one flies the best that it can. Why compare one against the other, each one if different, each one is special, each one is beautiful and unique.”

Reciprocal Education Advocates
At Ashton’s Place Immersive Learners, our Reciprocal Education Advocates (REAs) play a vital role in fostering collaborative and meaningful relationships among children, educators, families, and the broader community. With a focus on promoting quality pedagogy, our REAs — one dedicated to pedagogy and the other to creative arts — are committed to ensuring that learning experiences are inclusive, shared, and beneficial for everyone involved. They embody the belief that education is a collective journey, creating learning environments where children draw knowledge not just from educators, but also from their peers, families, and the community.
By engaging families as partners and facilitating open communication, our REAs build trust and community while striving for the best outcomes for children’s education and well-being. Additionally, they empower educators through mentoring and professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and responsiveness to children’s needs. This holistic approach to education sets Ashton’s Place apart from other centres, as we embrace diversity, nurture relationships, and celebrate the collaborative spirit that underpins lifelong learning.
