Meaningful Participation

The contemporary child needs a contemporary approach that will prepare them for life.

Our approach to early childhood education is forward-thinking and inspiring. By challenging traditional practices and embracing mindfulness, acceptance, and respect, we create a nurturing and meaningfully inclusive environment where children are seen as active participants in their own learning journey.

Viewing children as researchers and influencers acknowledges their innate curiosity, creativity, and unique perspectives, empowering them to explore, discover, and contribute to their learning experiences. This image of the contemporary child recognizes their agency, voice, and potential to shape their own learning paths.

Celebrating meaningful participation as a core value emphasises the importance of listening to children’s voices, honouring their contributions, and valuing their agency in decision-making processes. By prior  meaningful participation for all children and their families, we create a culture of respect, collaboration, and co-creation where everyone’s perspectives and experiences are valued and respected.

Ashton’s Place Immersive Learners approach fosters a sense of belonging, empowerment, and engagement, setting the stage for meaningful and transformative learning experiences that promote holistic development, creativity, and lifelong learning for all children and families. It reflects a commitment to creating a nurturing and meaningfully inclusive early childhood education and care environment that honours the unique potential and contributions of each child and family.

At Ashton’s Place Immersive Learners, we advocate for the understanding and acceptance of autistic children. The Autism Connect Early (ACE) Programme is designed to foster meaningful participation and develop functional skills in a naturalistic setting. By implementing the ACE Programme, centres demonstrate their commitment to advocate for meaningful participation for autistic children.
